Another Forever Flower Garden Quilt

http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t217501.html. Like Gabeway (beautiful quilt), back in 2010 I also made a quilt I called my Forever Flower Garden (nothing new under the sun is there?). What a wonderful way to combine a love of flowers, with an enjoyment of photography, and put them together with a love of quilting. If I can get my photos uploaded (haven't tried since the Board's format changed) I will enjoy sharing my quilt with you all.

Beautiful! Could you please share the how you printed your photos on fabric? Did you purchase fabric sheets for printing on or treat fabric and cut it to feed thru the printer?

I treated fabric, ironed freezer paper to the back, cut to 8.5 X 11, cut corners off of one end so it didn't jam in the printer, and printed the photo. Left it to cure 24 hours, removed freezer paper, pressed on back to heat se, waited another 24 hours (probably "overkill"), washed with luke-warm water and Quilt Wash, rinsed, air dried, and pressed again from the back. I also - prior to doing any of the above - intensified the colors (Photoshop) so that if there was a bleed I would still have good color left in the fabric photo. Seemed to work just fine. Thanks for asking - even if I did answer more than you asked. I haven't found (so far) any purchased fabric sheets that come close to having the same hand as the ones that you prepare yourself. The ones that you do yourself can be hand quilted, hold their shape yet the drape well.

Thanks for the comment. That photo is one of my favorites too. Printed it out and made a small quilt quilt that I hand quilted and gave to my favorite LQS - the Quilter's Bee. Plan to do another one with another one of my favorites - the butterfly. Took that picture up at our campsite in Flagstaff - that little guy had a wingspan that was over 6" - had never seen a butterfly that large.
