coopah 12-11-2013 05:59 AM

The blocks by themselves are impressive, but you taking them and finding such great fabrics to finish the quilt is just mind boggling to me. Wonderful! You have a real talent for color and patterns. Lucky recipient!

Retired Fire Chief 12-11-2013 06:00 AM

I can't believe the person that made them did't want them, they are beautiful and you made them wonderful, love what you did!

I believe those are blocks from one of the Patchwork Party BOM. I bet I know why they were not finished....they are to go around a medallion block. Mine are still waiting to be put together!

IBQUILTIN 12-11-2013 02:36 PM

Super score, and a great finish. What fun to find such a project

You are right! They were to go around a medallion block, and she even had that almost finished. But, since I didn't have everything to put it all together with the medallion, I just did it "my way." She had included a printout of how it was supposed to be put together, etc.

joy 12-11-2013 06:11 PM

maybe the owner passed away which makes that quilt all the more special....

misoop 12-11-2013 06:12 PM

Thanks, everyone, for looking at my quilt! And, thanks for the compliments, too. I really am very proud of how it turned out. I was so lucky to find the right colors to compliment the blocks. And, believe it or not, I actually only had to buy the sashing fabric. I had the two borders in my stash!! Love my stash!!! I'm on a kick to try to use what I have...IF at all possible!! Getting too old to "keep on buying"..... ;-))

mimiof4 12-11-2013 06:16 PM

Great save and a wonderful job of finishing the quilt! The block maker would be proud!
