Hi all, it's "justme" ...I have been looking around the site for a month or two now... dicided to join in chats and on the boards. I have to say all the postings here have really given me inspiration to us my imagination and keep on quilting. Have only been quilting for a year now, but I am hooked. My husband could not understand the love of fabrics and quilts until I was with him in the tool dept of our local hardware store. He was looking and touching all these tools that he wanted or had, with this look in his eyes, he now understands the idea of more fabric and just have to have.... I can't wait to see new pictures posted and all the ideas and colors. I am glad I found this site!!!!! Here are a few of my pictures of my first quilts. Red and Black one was my vey first!!!!

Welcome!
You do beautiful work.
I just made a turquoise and brown quilt with the same fabric you used.
I made it a sampler of 12 different blocks.
This site is very addictive and so informative.

Hi justme and welcome. Everyone here is great for helping in anyway we can. Love your quilts, the motorcycle one is very nice. Is that you and your hubby in one of the pictures on the quilt? Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Yes i can understand how its so addicting to buy more fabrics and just can't seem to have enough. Always new patterns to try out or something wonderful to create for yourself or for someone special. I'm still learning myself, some days when i have troubles i ask myself why did I pick such a hard hobby. Then when i finally figure out what i need to do in a project and see how its turning out , i'm happy again and back to the store lol.... I love just walking in a fabric shop and even just walking around and checking out the wonderful colors of fabrics and then of course i have to buy something. Keep posting your wonderful work. :D

justme 03-18-2008 12:57 PM

Hi Denise
The pictures of motorcycles are friends of ours. That was a gift to them for all the wondeful things that they did for our chapter. It was a challenge but I accomplished what I wanted. And thank you all for your comments, they are greatfully appreciated!

:D I could spend hours just looking and studying all the pictures. I have read so many posts, my head is spinning. There is such a weath of informtion here I can't believe it. I don't think that we could find all this info in a book... I have to thank everyone for their kind words and the welcome in which I feel I received!

Brenda Retzlaff 03-19-2008 12:48 AM

Your quilts are lovely. For a 'newbie" it looks like you are doing really well. The "addiction" seems to be contagous.

Celeste 03-19-2008 01:04 AM

Beautiful work, and what a nice thank you to that couple from your chapter!

gj 03-19-2008 04:42 AM

Very nice! What kind of quilting is on the brown and blue one? I'm a beginner also but having trouble with the hand quilting . Yours is so smooth, mine is full of wrinkles!

Feathers 03-19-2008 04:53 AM

Justme:
Welcome. Glad you joined us.

I'm amazed at your quilt work...a memory quilt as one of the first! Wow..I can't wait to see what else you can do to dazzle us.

As Ruth said, the baby quilt really caught my eye, too. Love your choice of fabric and colors. Good job.

Chele 03-19-2008 05:08 AM

Your quilts are wonderful! I love your fabrics! You do very precise work for a beginner. I'm impressed! Make more!

justme 03-19-2008 05:41 AM

Thank youfor your kind words The blue and brown one is quilted with the stitch in the ditch. I made that quilt to donate and everyone that saw it wanted it. My son wants one made for his bed. He thought it looked relaxing. I just need to find that fabric once again! :(

Harmony 03-19-2008 05:48 AM

Glad you're joining us! It really is a great place, and lots of info. Post LOTS of pictures (my favorite part!)

justme 03-19-2008 05:51 AM

:D that's my favorite part too!!! there are so many excellent ideas, color choices, it just shows that I have to thinkout of the box.

gj 03-19-2008 06:03 AM

what is the pattern? It looks like " yellow brick road"

justme 03-19-2008 06:07 AM

GJ... That's the pattern. I had a lot of fun with that one. I am in the process of using the same pattern with red, white and black fabrics. Not sure if I like the red it, but thats why I have a seam ripper.

gj 03-19-2008 06:29 AM

I am working on the same one with reds, greens, and golds.

gj 03-19-2008 06:31 AM

Sorry, I didn't finish. Mine has checks, dots and flowers. I hope its not to much. Mostly the colors are a dark rich color but I put the golds in to add some highlights.

Quilting Aggi 03-19-2008 06:38 AM
