Thanks for the info and picture that CoyoteQuilts posted I tried my first octagon topper. The instructions on the link posted in CoyoteQuilts had me a little confused at first but if you go thru it step by step it all works out.
I am going to try and make up a tute on how to make your own octagon shape template for a topper. As soon as I get it together I will try to post it. I have never done a tute before but I think I am ready to try. Thanks, Sherryl Candlequilter I did this just using little left over pieces |
Really looks pretty......I'm going to try and make some table runners this winter to get me started on something. I need to get my feet wet and just do something. So far I've just been building my "stash". Now I need to use it, but I'm very new to all this (not to sewing..just rusty). Anyway, will look forward to your tutorial on this.

Very pretty, Sheryll! I am sure you will be able to give us a good tute!
I am going to try one from this pattern, too. |

love it!

ooooohhhhhhhh - I would love to see the tute. I have wanted to make an octagonal topper for my kitchen table for a while, so this will give me a jump start - especially since I have to move my sewing room to a bedroom upstairs and I will need to break it in!

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Love your table topper. I need help, I would like a pattern for a octagon and a hexagon. I tried the circle, folding it and cutting from point to point, but it did not work for me.
