This is getting so it makes me feel kind of sad. This is the third one I have found in the last couple of months. This one is a very large Queen
size. I believe this is the one that is called the LeMoyne star. Can you imagine all that work and it ends up in a thrift store. Eight dollars ladies, no name of course. I am not sure if it is hand pieced but is all hand quilted. |

It is beautiful. How sad. Orphan quilts :(
Nice job... I love the rich colors!!
Its beautiful. I can't see why anyone would get rid of it. But it's your treasure
Beautiful. I've got to start shopping thrift stores.
Ruth, you lucky duck! That is a variation of the Broken Lone Star, the same one I'm working on. Those are gorgeous colors, and the quilt is very lucky to have you caring for it :D
What a wonderful find! We all know that you will take care of these orphans and give them a good home! :D :D :D

I guess some people just don't know what they have. You're right Ruth, it is rather sad. It's not even like those colors are somehow "out". Gee I would think that with a nice quilt in that sort of contition if someone didn't want it, they could give it to a family member or friend that would love to have it.
In my family quilts are loved unto tatters, and then we still use them, or in my case put them up for the next little girl. |
Poor orphan quilt. But now it has a new home!
