Another quilt for a deployed GS
1 Attachment(s)
I wasn't going to post this one as it's so similar to his cousin's posted last year, but here it is. Another GS has been deployed and I wanted his own personal QOV to go with him. Last year's had white sashing and stars in every corner. This year has pale blue marbled sashing because this one isn't going to be on a ship and white shows the dirt so readily. This one has stars only around the center block due to time constraints. The cornerstones, the binding and some of the strips were starred. I delivered it on his birthday 8 hours before he was leaving. He was very touched.
Very easy pattern, but the scrappy colors with a touch of RWB makes it okay. I quilted a echoed star in every other block and meandered in the others. I wish the picture of the back had been usuable. It is a dark blue with small scattered dots. I used a light blue varigated thread in the bobbin and the stars stood out so well. |

That is wonderful. You are such a good aunt. I'm a NAVY wife and I have a son who is a Marine and one who is at ARMY AIT right now. I can appreciate what that means to any military person. God Bless.
