Another quilt I did before
4 Attachment(s)
This is a quilt I did before. It's called Sir Lancelot. From A book by Judy Martin called--Scraps,Blocks & Quilts. I was going to do 12 blocks of 1 pattern. And 12 blocks of another pattern. It didn't work out that way. On this quilt, I run out of some dark background fabric, and some of the black print fabric. Anyhow take care everyone. Dont know if you can see the outer border. The dk shade and the light shade. The block with the dk shade, and the black print fabric for the points. The block with some black print, and red points. Beautiful! Love the colors!
|
your use of colors [that work nicely together] is amazing --
also, the fabric shortages look natural, not just that you ran out of a color... happened to me once & nobody ever noticed! |
Well done! The pattern with your fabric choices is a great combo.
|
Beautiful work as always I love the border you used and I love those star blocks
|
It's all in how you sell it! You didn't run out of one fabric or another, it was all a design choice to use up those scraps. Yeah. That's the story!
And your quilt is awesome-love that outside border! |
Oh wow what a great quilt!
|
Beautiful work. I always look forward to your posts. Thank you for posting.

Just amazing, Don, as usual. Thanks for showing it.

Don, you do some fantistic quilts! Perfect points all around, too. Uou will have to do "tute" on how you did the outer border.

The border is Boston Blocks. I'm sure it has another name, but this is the name by which I know it. You make it with a HST and a plain square laid RST. Mark a line from corner to corner, making an "X" with the seam already there. Sew 1/4 in on each side of this line and cut apart on marked line. You have two Boston Blocks. There are many cute things to do with Boston Blocks, and Don's pyramids are just one configuration. You can use them to make Twisted Ribbons, too. |
Oh wow!! This is simply beautiful! Great job!
|
Wow! Gorgeous! Did you PP the stars & border? Very nice work
|
