mimisharon 04-14-2007 05:16 AM

Very pretty quilt!

Catherine 04-14-2007 05:19 AM

Very pretty!! Do you do all your quilting yourself, by hand?
So far I'm a terrible hand quilter. It takes sooo long!

weste 04-14-2007 05:23 AM

No I have a friends that long arm quilts them. I get bored hand quilting.

ccbear66 04-14-2007 09:40 AM

very pretty

The more I see of the stack-n-whack quilts, the higher they move up on my list. That is really striking.

Rebecca Chambley 04-14-2007 02:22 PM

VERY PRETTY.

ButtercreamCakeArtist 04-14-2007 02:31 PM

Very lovely!

Yes, I was wondering what the pattern name is, also. :D

This is very beautiful. I love this quilt.

rvquilter 04-14-2007 10:53 PM

Beautiful color choices.

weste 04-15-2007 05:21 AM

I will look the pattern up and let you know. Very easy. Here is another one in different colors.

This is beauteous, I love stars and any patterns with diamonds. I have tried several times now but for the life of me I cannot get the points right.

I always cut the tips off when sewing the blocks together.
Do you have a secret??

ceannastahr 04-18-2007 02:57 PM

try March and April BOM both had points good way to pratice

weste 04-19-2007 03:52 AM

The only thing I can think of is to make sure you have an exact quarter inch seam. The quarter inch foot helps a lot.

weste 04-20-2007 05:46 AM

I just follow the instructions. Guess I just lucked up.

susan s. 04-22-2007 05:36 AM

WOW that's georgeous! Looks like a Kalidoscope technique inside of stars.

Jane Sisk 09-19-2007 05:42 AM

Love the quilt. Haven't tried any stars yet but would love to. What is the pattern and what is stack and whack?

Your quilts are beautiful! I love your color choices...especially the 2nd one with the black in it. Good job

susan s. 09-19-2007 06:37 AM

weste both quilts are beautiful. Is that a Kaleidascope technique?

jessiesmom; I found if I make the pcs. which border the pts. on either side (In westes quilt for instance it would be the white pcs.) slightly larger so they overlap the pts. slightly, it gives you that 1/4in seam to sew w/o dipping into your star pt. Also it's easier to trim the blocks to a uniform size w/o losing your pts. :D

jessiesmom 09-20-2007 06:10 AM

Thanks Susan I will try that the next time.

Beautiful!! I love stack-n-wack, my first quilt was a stac-n-wack.

susan s. 09-21-2007 05:31 AM

I designed a block the other night, which I hope is original enough to be called "original". It came directly out of my head, but with all that's floating around in there, Who can tell? I'm really excited to share it, however, I am still working on the blocks to photos aspect. My Hubby's step Dad has a Digital camera and will be here this weekend so hoping to finally get mine posted. The ones I've done anyway.
