This quilt was ordered by a co-worker for her newest grandchild. When this is finished, 3 of her grandchildren will have round quilts. This is the 4th one I have made, and it may be my last for quite a while!!

Very pretty...well done, don't think I'm up to doing round yet!

They can be a little challenging because of all the bias edges. But overall they are really easier to do than they appear. Just careful cutting and pin-pin-pin, and sew with a walking foot. They actually go together pretty easily.
Thanks for the compliments!

Hi Janice!

I've never seen one like this. Is there something that goes in the center?

Someone not on this forum suggested that I use my round glass dining room table as a pattern for a small lap robe or for a baby.
I could tape white newspaper to fit it, mark out 4 equal pieces and keep on marking till I have enough to use up all my fabric of whatever colors I want to use. Then cut them out, and add seam allowances for each one when cutting fabric. It's about 43 inches wide, give or take an inch or so.

Just might do that. Then probably would have to put a round center in it to disguise the mismatched points in the middle of the whole thing.

I got a large roll of unprinted newspaper from the newspaper office right after the AM run was over and the office opened. Cost about 4 dollars and will probably last me for years.

I've never seen one like this, and I like it. I think it's clever, and a child would find it Useful for many years. Around their neck when watching tv; a handy superman cape when they're 4; easy to drag around; a great cover-up in the car seat. Very clever.

This grandma likes to have a "floor quilt" for the babies when they come to her house. She puts the round quilt on the carpet and the baby on the quilt with toys. I think it's a great idea!!
