Mary did you quilt this yourself? I like the allover design you chose for it. It looks fast and easy.

Quilt4u 05-01-2009 08:31 AM

Love it.

Yes, I quilted it with my Tin Lizzie. The side to side loops are the easiest for me to do. It only took an hour and a half to quilt. I'm learning to have smooth controll. I have lots to learn, someday I hope to try harder things like Pantos and freemotion feathers and other designs. It helps to have other quilter's to use as examples.
This forum is super! Thanks for all the input and help.

So just WHAT is a TURNING TWENTY? And can we get the patterns or direcitons on line? It seems easy but I just don't quite get the size of the block.

ranger 05-03-2009 10:34 AM

I'm wondering also,--- what is a turning twenty?

Gail, Turning Twenty is a pattern by Tricia Cribbs. I purchased it online but it is widely available in fabric shops. It takes 20 fat quarters, cut into only 4 pieces and assembled according to the directions. There is very little waste to the fat quarters and it goes together fast due to the large pieces. The finished quilt is about 70" X 86" but can be made larger with additional borders or smaller using fewer FQ.
My (many) kids and grandkids like the look, they don't care much for the traditional patterns that I like best.
It can be made fast if you need to.

Thanks Mary. Fast is good; and 70 x 86 is PLENTY big. I'm a ditcher, so I doubt that I could handle even that much. I will be on the lookout for the pattern in the LQS.
