The weather co operated today, and I was able to photograph my other quilts. Hope you enjoy seeing these too!

I believe this was made by my great grandmother. My dad brought it to me, all tied up in string, and said his mother wanted him to donate it to the mission. Instead he asked if I wanted it!!! Very old and quite fragile nine patch. I love the aged shades of this one. The border and back are of the red print. In person the non-pieced squares are browner than in this pic.

I have always called this a "depression quilt".Could these be repurposed clothing? Seems likely to me. History repeats itself!

Close up of the 9 patch. Almost a homespun type fabric. Batted and tied. Bright spot is sun coming through a small tear.

Very old and fragile. Loved the bold graphics. Rescued for a cutter, but too fragile even for that.

Here's a graphic example of why you need to refold quilts often. These main fold lines deteriorated before the rest of the quilt. (Was damaged before I adopted it.) So sad!

Bold red backing on the graphic brown and white quilt. Quite non traditional for it's time.

Another scrappy star quilt. I seem to be drawn to scrappy quilts. Light spots are where the loose cotton batt has shifted.

Another very fragile old quilt. Who can help with the name of this one? All hand appliqued. Top left still has part of the edge cover applied to protect from wear and soiling.

This had a very light weight cotton batt. Lovin' the citron green of the vases!

Scrappy bow ties, 110 with lots of variety. Lovely colors, aqua print back and binding, hand tied.

Detail of the fabrics in bowties. Tied at corners in pink.

Detail of the stars. Are these LeMoyne?

Really scrappy 16 patch. Plain muslin backing.

Detail showing some of the interesting old fabrics. Very scrappy, even a sort of seersucker with the pink floral.

Another very fragile old quilt. Such mellow colors and interesting layout. All hand pieced and quilted!

Detail showing some of the unusual fabrics. Lots of patience went into this one!

Purchased this from a seller in Shipshewana. Binding was completely worn out, but center was good. I rebound in a pale green to go with the floral theme.

Center medallion with details of the morning glories.

The listing mechanism kicks you off after 1 hr., so I do as many as I can in that time. Probably one more session needed to finish. Glad you're enjoying seeing them. Penny

Yeah, I guess that made up for giving away my Ginny dolls!! LOL!! I left them behind when I married, then wanted to retrieve them for our daughter. No harm, she never much played with dolls and he gave them to a needy family.

Wow, how lovely, I have really enjoyed seeing these old quilts, thankyou so much for sharing with us, you are so lucky to have them. I love seeing the old designs and patterns of the fabrics, having been in the fabric trade for many years, it is very interesting to see these old fabrics.

Enjoyed the antique quilt show. Thanks for sharing.

thanks for sharing...love to see what others find and also the designs of quilts. We have a bunch of antique shops near my work so at lunch a friend of mine and I go even with no money...so many old quilt tops and old quilts. They are so neat to look. They also have old really neat table cloths which I am thinking of using for backing on a lap quilt. Most of the table cloths are only $3.00 and the fabric is really unique. OK....I just convinced my self that I need to go back and get a few.

thank you so much for sharing your quilts. There is just something really special about seeing the old ones, no matter the condition.

Those are fantastic. I'm a little jealous. I'm finishing (by hand at the request of the original owner) two 60 year old quilt tops made from clothing worn by my husbands mother and her siblings. Both of the tops were sewn completely by hand. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Most lovely! Thanks for sharing the eye candy.
