I have completed this queen size quilt and can't decide how to quilt the top. I am leaning toward "in the ditch" but would love some advise. I don't want to take away from the colors and the white areas seem a little plain to me. Any thoughts on this?

Maybe a floral motif in each white block, and something swirly following the chain.

Like stitch in the ditch. How about some small medallion in centers, not too busy or large?

Oh, that is lovely. In the ditch would work for the colored blocks, but the white squares are begging for something more. Perhaps a simple floral circle, or geometric shape.

Medallion or flower in white area

I can see a medium size feather circle in the middle.

I agree with all the others - a medallion or flower in the white areas would be lovely.

I think quilting a design that fills the white and use white thread... :-)

i would google "machine quilting patterns" and find something that jumps out at you! your color choices are very pretty & calming

Such a pretty quilt!!! I love the blues and purples :D:D:D
I think a pretty motif in the centers too :D:D:D |
Oh what a pretty quilt! Something special for the white parts--and something different for the purple parts? Beautiful!

Thank you so much for all the great suggestions. Now i need to get started! I will show it off when it's done. Thanks again and happy quilting!!!

I would do a motif in the center of the white and straight stitch diagonally through the colored squares. That is a beautiful quilt.
|
Thank you for all the great ideas. I am starting it this week-end!
