I saw this pattern on a few websites. It looks so cute - not that anyone wears aprons anymore.
I think I could figure it out myself, but if you've made one, let me know how it fits, if it is super easy, etc. Thanks! Wendy |
oops where do we find it? :?: :D

www.vanillahousedesigns.com is where you'll find it, and lots of other cute craft patterns.

How cute! Looks easy enough, I think I'm gonna have to give it a try myself! Thanks for the link!

Is that your little guy in your avatar? What incredibly blue eyes! Better keep him locked up when he gets to the teen years!
|
yeah, he's my little guy...except I let my daughter give birth to him, lol. My grandson Owen, he has incredible blue eyes that just take over some of his pictures, he's a handsome little fellow. I think your right about keeping him locked up in his teens!

I Like that Sunday Dinner apron even better!

Hey...I wear an apron every now and then. LOL. Thanks for the link

I have worn an apron since I was on my own. I do not like to mess up my clothes. Now, I can carry my cell phone and cordless phone while around the house or outside working in the garden.
Some may be surprised. I was only in my mid 20's and discovered while pregnaunt the wonders of an apron. Have made many since. I even make them for Grade school teachers. They too want to save their clothes! Thanks for the new pattern! Chairjogger |
I have my moms aprons that she had. They are 1/2 aprons and have a towel attached to them. I LOVE THEM!!
|
Oh yeah alot of people still wear them as for me NOPE only because i ruin my clothes all the time at work so it really doesn't matter to me. But one thing i did notice is that looks like a HUGE log cabin block with a pocket.
|
I still wear the full aprons, cause I am verrry messy. Have been thinking about making a few for Xmas gifts for the girls in the family. Have a pattern for one w/fat qtrs.
|
I don't wear an apron myself, but once I took one of the white "chef's" aprons & appliqued flames on the bottom. On the bib part I wrote: "Dinner's done when the smoke alarm sounds!" I gave to my friend's hubby for Xmas one year. :D
|
OH my gosh ! flames and the dinner done is a Hoot !! Great idea !

I have made several of these cute 4-Corner aprons - quick for gifts. They are really very flattering and cute on. I taught a kid's sewing class using the children's size pattern, and the kids did great - we left off the pocket to save time and fabric. It would be cute for kids or grandkids to have aprons that match Mom/Grandma.
At the 2007 Sew Expo in Puyallup, WA, every fabric vendor featured aprons, aprons, aprons. I think it's a fun revival of an old tradition. Some of my favorites are a French Flea Market apron http://www.mkquiltdesigns.com/fleamarketapron.html (three-tiered ruffles) and Indygo Junction aprons, especially "Bon Appetit" http://www.indygojunctioninc.com/store/index.php?cPath=126_131 Have fun! I wear an apron every single day. I remember my grandmother wearing them. I have them hanging on the shutters that are between our kitchen/living room. About six of them!! I use regular cotton to make them. I do not iron them ever!! The wrinkles fall out of them as they hang. My husband made fun of me one Saturday - I'd been baking/cleaning/cooking and needed to go to the store... washed up, put on shoes, combed hair, gathered purse/phone and was going out the door - he called me back and suggested I take off my apron!! :) I did. I have made several for gifts. I love to make them and wear them.

Those looks really cute.. I am thinking about making a couple for myself and the kids for baking :) Thanks for the link

Well, here I am answering my own post.
I bought the pattern and made 2 so far. They are cute and easy, although they seem big on my 5'4" frame, but okay on my daughter's 5'6" frame (she is the model.) Love those NASCAR pj pants! LOL There are so many possibilities with this pattern! I have to make it much smaller for my Grandmother. She is under 5' now and looked like a child in these! Thanks, but that is my daughter, Alisia, modeling them. She wouldn't be caught dead behind a sewing machine! Hopefully that grandchild she is carrying will want to do stuff with Nana and Papa (me and Bryan) so that they are handy with either crafts or mechanical stuff. |
These are darling! So's your cute model!
|
Very cute!
I wear an apron just about every day. |

I made several more aprons. Not 4 Corners, but they are cute. These are reversible. I am hoping to find some craft fairs locally and make some money for Christmas! They have little pockets just the right size to hold your cell phone or a recipe card.

Here is the back of the vine apron.

lol I have that pattern, I wear my apron all the time...lol I'm messy, but yes this is very cute, I love mine

I have made a couple of these aprons as gifts. They were really well received. They are pretty simple tho the pockets can be a tiny bit tricky. You will have no problem, just do it! There are no mistakes just creative opportunities. Have fun!

That is a really cute idea. But then my husband, the household chef would rub his tomato-sauced hands allover the sides of it and I'd want to kill him!
