I acquired this old quilt top several years ago, I found it in an antique store in PA. I thought it was an interesting block pattern and layout design. Does anyone happen to know what it might be called?

The pieced blocks are Broken Dishes. At least that's what I know them as. They could have a different name in other places.

I'd also call that Broken Dishes. I think what makes that one so distinctive is the consistent fabrics, usually see it a bit scrappier.

Attached is how I did one.

Iceblossom, very pretty quilt. I like your arrangement of the blocks.

Thank you Shirley. I've heard that block name before but I don't think I've seen it made.

It looks like it could be half square triangles too but I also have seen it and it was called broken dishes just as the other members here have mentioned.
Iceblossom-very pretty quilt.

I'd also call it Broken Dishes, but I've also seen that block called Hourglass. This is what happens when you cut it into a nine patch and turn all of the pieces 180 degreeshttps://www.quiltingboard.com/member...328-621888.jpg

Ice Leopard this is so pretty and who would have thought! Love this and hope I can figure where to use color in the block. Never made a broken dish. I may need guidance.

There is a tutorial on making it by Jenny Doan at MSQC. Just google it! Looks like its worth making!
