Just took a piece of apple fabric I had, used left over warm & natural and backed it with muslin. Turned out ok.

I thought the fabric was too cute to cut up so I just kept it whole and just sewed long basting stitches on my machine to quilt it. Have fun - remember to post pics of your kitchen and runner. Would love to see it.
