Applique baby quilt
 

Here is the baby quilt. I really loved making it. I made two "dolls" for baby Simon (yet to be born).
My nephew and his wife are expecting now. They liked this so much they want one too. I'll change the colors up a bit to make it different.

The pattern is McCall's Crafts/M6411
I found it online for a fraction of the original cost. Then I took a chance and called my local JoAnn's store. They had one; cheaper than online and no shipping fee!
It is really easy to follow, makes you smile to work on and has inspired me to make the little "dolls" to go with it. It is 3-D and I used different fabrics for texture for the baby. The parents wanted to hang it on the wall but I've convinced them to let the baby go at it. I used a "heavy" fusible for the applique and then stitched them down. The hands/feet are stuffed. I actually used some of my scraps from my coffee cup quilt on the extremities.
