Appliqued piece

I always forget to post photos of quilts I've made, but looking at some of the fabulous things others have posted reminded me to do so. This wallhanging (24" x 24") was inspired by an antique quilt someone showed at a guild meeting. The background is made of neutral strings which I had had waiting for just the thing to applique on top. I hand appliqued the melon pieces and then echo quilted the quilt with my walking foot.

wow, very nice. Great idea on the neutrals BG, and I love the colors.

I have so many neutrals in beige, cream, tan, off white...you get the idea. It would be a benetit to do the background up in 1 12" strips or log cabins and perhaps do a sunflower applique. You have given me an idea!
