This is my arrowheads block. Took me 2 days. Had to rip out a couple of times, but I am happy with how it came out.

Thanks you all, I can always count on encouragement from you. I do think I am getting better. I am very hard to please.

I just read the one about seeing points from a galloping horse, thats a great way of looking at it.

And Patrice, with the work you do, dont know what you would want with mine. That quilt you are working on is stunning, and the quilting, can't believe it is your first try.

I will post a pic of a baby quilt I did recently, couldn't afford to have it quilted so I had to do it myself. For the first time trying it didnt come out too bad. Especially if you are galloping by. lol

What's that flying horse called, a pegasus maybe. That one's flying over my house.

vicki reno 05-23-2007 06:08 AM

I think that critter lives around me and comes over to stomp the point dull everytime I try to do something like that! :D

patricej 05-23-2007 07:26 AM

i have a few rules about points.

(1) your opinion doesn't count unless you're paying me
(2) your opinion only counts a little unless you're paying me a LOT

(3) if you're rude and stoopid enough to search and criticize that closely and that much, you don't deserve a handmade quilt no matter how much you're paying me

i figure it's one thing if yoose guys share honest, constructive assessment of my work because we're all buds, in the same boat, and want to help each other keep going and get better.

some stranger? or somebody who wouldn't know a machine needle from the ones you find on the beach? no way. no how.

Hear! Hear! I agree 100% Patrice. A dull point can be an act of love...a sharp, critical eye notating those dull points can be a heartbreaker. Been there!

Especially if it is from one of your closest family members who couldn't tell the difference between a Mariner's Compass and a Biscuit Block. Thank you both for your words of wisdom. They do help bandage old wounds.
