Art Pics Repurposed
3 Attachment(s)
My girls took art lessons for years when they were young, and of course, I still have each and every one. Scanned them and uploaded to Spoonflower to print "swatches". I was gonna make a memory quilt, but then I tried one picture made into a hot pad...then had to make one from other DD's drawings! That lead me to a cozie. Any other suggested projects welcomed!
(PS. I found that the horizontal stitching lines help the hot pads "fold" when grabbing hot objects.) |
What fun! Those are adorable. If you had them enlarged, they would make stunning pillows.

What a great idea, one of a kind and what a nice memory!!! I agree with Sharon, I would make a pillow!!!
|
Very cute!

Those are very cute!
|
Those look great! I will have to look into Spoonflower. Thanks for sharing.

I can see purses, centers on the backs of jackets or on the front, window curtains with multiple pics included, small pouches and what about appliques on jeans or fun bloomy type beachwear bottoms? Another idea, scarves for Covid masks. I had forgotten that Spoonflower would do that type service. I wish I had more of my kid's works to try this out on.

what a fun way to use those pictures!
|
Charming! I've been wanting to try Spoonflower. Great idea!
|
I have thought about Spoonflower for a long time and now see that they did a beautiful job on your fabric! Maybe a couple mug rugs or even place mats and a table runner would work good with this unbelievable fabric.

Very Nice!!! Love it.
|
Very pretty, great idea.
|
That is a great idea, they are really cute!
|
My goodness you are a talented family!! Love them!
|
What a great way to memorialize your kids art work.
|
Those are great! And awesome tip about the horizontal lines on hot pads!

Great idea! I second the notion of turning some of them into pillows as well.

Love, Love your idea. They turned out really pretty. Can I be nosy & ask, was it expensive ?

They were not expensive. Spoonflower offers swatches (6x8 inches) for $5 each. I signed on yesterday to order fat quarter sized panels for pillowcases(I've never made them before) that some suggested. The fat quarters were on sale for $4.84!!! BTW, I also ordered custom made fabric from Adult Coloring pages that I created while recovering from knee surgery. Awesome!
Here's a pic of one custom ordered color-page fabric that I used to backed a quilt. |
