Hi, my art quilt group had a night full of fun using common household stuff to stamp on fabric with acrylic & fabric paints.
We saved spools, plastic toys, adding machine & tape center & more to stamp images on muslin to create our our designs.

Very interesting idea. Does the paint stand up to lots of washing?

Are you using just regular acrylic paint? And then do you heat set it? Ohhhhh how I wish I was part of your guild! I would love to have a group like that to learn from!

Regular acrylic paint needs a textile medium mixed into it when used on fabric but after it drys (drys very quickly) you can wash the heck out of it, but you do not need to heat set it. Some fabric paints recommend heat setting to be permanent. This is different than dye painting. Lots of info in library or web.

I made two small wall hanging pieces with some of the stamped fabric made last week at the art quilt meeting for future doll quilt swaps. Moosegirl
