Art Quilting Project

I took a Craftsy.com class to learn "Art Quilting: Pictorial Techniques". Here are the results. It was fun, but wouldn't use the glue stick method again. MESSY stuff! lol I switched to simple applique after the first few flower petals.

DogHouseMom 01-26-2013 05:25 PM

Very pretty! I loved the glue stick method, I used it on a large landscape wall hanging.

Bataplai 01-26-2013 05:30 PM

Really, really pretty. I've considered the art quilt class. Do you feel like you've learned something beyond basic applique that you can now take to design your own art quilt pieces?

QuiltnNan 01-26-2013 06:09 PM

nicely done

Great job!

SewExtremeSeams 01-27-2013 09:44 AM

Congratulations! It looks very beautiful.

I don't care for the glue stick either. However, I find working with washable Elmer's school glue to be just my cup of tea. Have you tried that?

Annz 01-27-2013 10:14 AM

That is quite adorable.

cuppi duke 01-27-2013 10:35 AM

I really like it. I too don't like the glue method. The only way I can make it stick is by ironing it. I still like lite fusible web.

Helen S 01-27-2013 11:09 AM

I definitely learned a lot about the art quilting process and am ready to try my skills on another project as soon as I get this floral log cabin quilt out of the way.

Judylee2 01-27-2013 01:21 PM

Nothing ventured nothing gained. You made a very pretty quilt out of the class and learned not to work with glue again!
