Pattern Name: Based on 'The Craftsman'
http://www.quiltwoman.com/The-Crafts...t-Pattern.aspx Dimensions: 54" X 64" Fabric source/name:Main block Hoffman Fabrics 'Snow Festival' Pieced and quilting by machine, Pellon Quilters Touch Polyester . About 5 years ago, I had purchased a large scale Asian print for a OBW, but after I got it home, decided there weren't enough colors for it to be successful. I matched the print and used it for a wide quilt back. In December, I showed a friend the completed quilt. The pieced top had approximately one zillion patches (give or take). Although she complimented it, she went into absolute raptures over the backing. I decided if I could find more of that fabric I would make a throw for her. After an extensive search I found a couple yards on Etsy. Laid the top out and thought it was a bit too blah, so I added a mini red border around the center which brightened it up. Had fun with the quilting. |

Next to batiks, I swoon for the Asian prints and this one is beautiful. I love that little red accent border you put around it and the squares on point you quilted into the gold colored fabric positively shimmers. Love quilting like that! The back makes this a two sided quilt. Your friend is going to be thrilled with this.

Love that design. Perfect for this fabric.

Beautiful quilt, the layout of the pieced borders and the addition of the red add extra interest without overwhelming the center. I really like your choices for the quilting.

Gorgeous! Never would have thought to use red, but it definitely works!

Thanks for the really creative idea for a panel quilt. I have several panels and am just stymied as to how to make the. I even have a board on my Pinterest for ideas. I'm going to post my things on this board and see what others can suggest.
Mine is a switch plate....where you turn on the light....with a peacock in blues, teals and purples. Then I have a matching panel. The room is blue. It should work, but how to make that quilt?? Marcia |
I've not seen a pattern like yours but what a great way to showcase your beautiful fabrics and the quilting is fantastic.
|
Your addition of the narrow red border is genius!
