I bought a yard of the blue floral asian print --I just loved it , but didn't know what I wanted to do with it . And didn't want to cut it up . So I decided to cut 12" blocks and make a few sampler blocks with it. This is just the top so far, because I am not sure what I want to put on the back yet.

Lovely! What a nice way to create your own pattern and use your focal fabric.

Wow- very pretty and unique! I would have thought you had a lot more than a yard into it. Very cool!!

Thank you everyone. It was one of those fabrics that are too pretty to cut. But I had it for 2 years and thought I'd better do something with it.

Love that fabric -- and you made a gorgeous top with it!

feline fanatic 08-23-2009 05:55 AM

Gorgeous, looks like it went together really quick for you too. I love how you placed the dresdin fan blocks, it really gives the quilt movement that compliements the appearance of water in the Asian print.

Isn't it funny how so many of us dread making that first cut on an exceptionally pretty fabric or one that we really like? But we all buck up and take blade and ruler to it eventually and look at the great results we can get.
