Attic Window with Eagles
1 Attachment(s)
Ok, so I purchased this material here on the board..... made this quilt for my hubbys' 60th birthday. Wouldn't you know, he likes the back best! The back is just the panel.... without the window effect. Could have saved some time, but I learned quite a bit. No pattern used..... just looked at others and went to town. I'm pleased. Also my first shot at outline quilting. Can't tell from the pics, but I outlined the eagles! Also SID.

Have a Blessed day Ellen |
Love it, it is so nice, I love the orange window frames with it.
|
It's beautiful!! you did a very good job of it...for a first-time.
|
Love this. Did you just add material over the panel?
|
That is really nice. Happy BD to your lucky hubby.

Beautiful, just love it. I PM'd you. BrendaK

lillybeck........... yes, I didn't "remove" any of the panel for the cross pieces of the window frame. You can see how it slightly distorted the eagles wings....... specially the upper left corner!
|
Such a pretty quilt. Wonderful work.

I made my DH a quilt similar to that - with an eagle, a cabin, trees, pine cones - just a panel in the center and green and brown squares and strips around the outside to make a full-sized quilt. I hand-quilted outlined each feather, each tree, each pine cone - man the work that went into that quilt. But he loves it. He's like Linus with his blanket. I can only get it away from him to launder it. (he's disabled and stays in bed most of the time, and his quilt is right there with him)
