Attic windows.. #4 quilt

2 Attachment(s)
I've been intrigued with the "attic window" pattern since it was shown to me. Went to an off the wall fabric store and found some $2/yd material to start a quilt. This was a learning opportunity so I didn't want a $12/yd education.
Best part? Machine sewn binding is more fun the hand sewn.
Worst part? Stitch ripper! Still quilting too fast and making mistakes. The Lizzie is awesome however.

Got a new grand daughter and her mommy is totally against pink and gave her nursery a robot theme. My wife bought me EQ7 for my birthday, so I'm going to try designing a robot quilt for my first EQ project. Either that or an assault rifle quilt.

Very nice. Dramatic with the use of such simple color combinations.

Very cool pattern, I've never seen that pattern before. I'm new to quilting, but learning alot from everybody on QB!! Thanks for sharing!

Really nice job on this quilt. I would say you didn't waste you money. Good luck with the next one.

I understand all to well the shock value of your last sentence. Stick to robots.

You did a great job with just three fabrics! I make a lot of Attic Windows and I really like your take on it.

Beautiful quilt. I would go with the rifle myself but then again remember its for the baby so I guess the robots would be better for her at this time. LOL

Great job on your attic window quilt! Robots or Rifles? MMMmmmmm. Maybe robots!!!!!

LindaMRB 02-17-2013 07:53 AM

I love the dusty, worn look of these colors.
Also like that your binding is the same sequence as the pattern of the quilt.
In the modern quilt book series I have seen some robots that might be inspiration for your robot theme.

I love it...great job!

Beautiful quilt. I have not made an attic window yet, but I love the pattern. How about a robot holding a a pink assault rifle? Lol. I had a good friend who painted her daughter's nursery grey, grey sheets, black crib, dark steel blue trim, hated pink etc. 2 years later....little girl loves pink, pink everywhere. The kid will decide.

Great job! I just was shown a book featuring attic windows patterns. I immediately ordered the book! The possibilities are endless. I can't wait to make one.
