Aussie Animals baby quilt - Flange binding

2 Attachment(s)
Made this quilt for a friend's baby boy. It was a lot of fun to make.
I tried the flange binding and LOVED how easy it was and how well
it turned out. (I just hope baby George likes green!)
I used green minky on the back, and since the flange was black, I
used black thread on the top and green thread in the bobbin, so the
stitches don't show on the back.
The pattern is The Potato Chip Quilt.
Thank you for looking, and for your kind comments! Merry Christmas!

You can make such cute quilts with the simplest pattern when you use such terrific fabrics.

Cute quilt! I agree with you on the flange binding. I loved doing it as well and it does add the extra interest at the edge!

Because you can't make just one!

I love your colors and this pattern!

great pattern... I will have to google "flange binding" as I am not familiar with it but yours looks wonderful and really finishes the quilt nicely. Merry Christmas to you too.

Pretty quilt, and great job on your first flanged binding. I just love using this technique. It takes only a few minutes longer than sewing on a regular hand-stitch binding, but there aren't hours of hand stitiching. I also feel like they are much more secure than my hand-stitched bindings.

You did a great job on that. The flange binding looks great, too – glad it worked for you.

Really sweet. I am not a big fan of green (don't know why) but this one is very nice

Love the lime green - especially the "peas" on black. Such a cute baby quilt.
