'Australia' Series of Quilts Gallery Hanging
2 Attachment(s)
The bigger quilts in my series of 'Australia' quilts are now hanging in a local gallery ready to celebrate Australia Day on January 26. This is the first time I have been able to stand back and look at them and I am really pleased with how they came up. They will hang in the Gallery for a month or so and will be displayed at another couple of events during the year, one of which will be the World Fly Fishing Championships to be held here in Tasmania in December. I am about to begin making a series of quilts featuring trout fish / Tasmania / fly fishing which will also be on display /and for sale for the international visitors during this time.
Sadly we are experiencing extreme weather conditions here in Tasmania at present and 'my happy place' aka our fishing shack in the highlands is right now in the path of an uncontrolled bushfire which is threatening other fishing shack communities in and around the many lakes in this area. |
Lyn congratulations. Beautiful work. Tremendous honor for all your beautiful quilts. Sharon.

wow, very impressive
|
Congratulations on your great display!
|
Beautiful work. Hope your 'happy place' remains unscathed.
|
Your quilts are beautiful and make such a lovely display. I hope your fishing area will be spared from the fire. We, where we live, are all to aware of the devastation of wildfires.
|
Beautiful display of your gorgeous quilts! I hope your “happy place” survives.

You have completed an amazing series of quilts that do honor to Australia. I'm sorry to learn about the brushfires. I hope some rain comes your way soon.
|
Congratulations, what a wonderful display

I remember when you posted these! I never realized how big some of them were until I saw the pic of you standing in front of them. Sure hope you get some much needed rain to help cool things down a bit and extinguish the bushfire. My good friend in Sydney said the heat is unbearable and even worse inland.
|
Sorry to hear about the bushfire in your area and hoping everything goes well for you. Your quilts are a grand tribute to Australia. What an exciting year for you. Good luck and happy quilting.
|
Your quilts and work is absolutely amazing. Good luck with the brush fires.

Wonderful work, Lynnie! :)

What talent! congratulations are well deserved, Lynnie! Can't wait to see the series of fishing quilts and will pray that the wildfire can get controlled soon so you don't experience loss.

Beautiful representations of your wonderful country. We were there visiting my penpal from grade school in 2013 and on a tour of AU and NZ. Also met a quilting board member that I continue to correspond with. Such lovely people and such varied terrain. Prayers that the bush fires are controlled quickly and your cabin and others are spared. We hope to return someday and would love to take a tour of Tasmania and the southern coast next time. Congratulations on your exhibit and good luck with your sales!

Wow, they are all fantastic. Congratulations on your showing
|
