Avant garde double disappearing nine patch table runner

I made this table runner for my BFF for this Christmas. I started sending her ideas after Christmas last year. She loves Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. She has a beautiful Amish made oak table (4’ x 8’) and chairs. The topper is 30” x 95”. It is on my table which is (with 1 leaf) 42" x 82". The mini tutorial for this block was in a FaveQuilts email. http://www.favequilts.com/Block-Patt...ing-Nine-Patch. It reminds me of a child’s rhyme. Make a 9 patch, cut it up, make another bigger 9 patch, cut it up, all the day, have good luck (never said I could rhyme). The mottled orange and dark teal fabrics are similar to the tile in her kitchen and eating area. I made it reversible (never done that before). I had 2” strips left over from cutting the blocks and made the binding out of all of them (never done 2” binding before). It was all out of my stash. Quilted w/C&C off-white thread also in the bobbin, Soft N Bright batting, using the panto “Tendrils”. Deb Reed (bamamama) was the inspiration for the quilting. Here is the inspiration quilt: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t196188.html. She was kind enough to send me the link to the digital one and to a paper panto which was “Gothic Vine”, which, regrettably, was too large for my machine. “Tendrils” has a similar feel. Love this panto and will be using it again.
Thanks for looking,
Dolly

This is beautiful. It will go perfectly with her FLW and Amish furnishings.

What a great looking table runner! Thanks for the link. I have made several D9P but never did the double cutting/sewing. That sure makes for an interesting pattern.
