I have been asked for information on my avatar quilt. I have no idea where I got the pattern from. But if one looks at my close-up picture I think you could figure out how to duplicate it.
I made it as a wedding quilt for my youngest daughter. It was made of random scraps in no particular order. |
Pretty! Very colorful!

Beautiful quilt! I love controlled scrappy.
If I was to duplicate this pattern, I would pick a fabric that I had enough of to cut the same center square. Lets say a 5" square for the center. Then find a good neutral that I had a lot of and do a 2 1/2" strip (frame) around the 5" square. Then do scrappy (use the same scrappy for entire block) 2 1/2" strips around the neutral fabric creating one big block. Then I would cut it into equal quarters (like you do with a disappearing nine patch). You would get four blocks a like but if you use a different scrappy for each block then you could just scatter them around. I think this would be neat for a jelly roll quilt. |
