Baby Bird Quilt

My Great Niece is expecting!
Pattern: "Twitter" https://www.quiltingdaily.com/produc...tern-download/ Size: 45" X 46" Fabric: Shopped my stash. My quilt was inspired by the pattern. I didn't care for the way they did the pinwheels, the points were cut off. I know that's a 'look', but after carefully constructing my HSTs, I'll be darned if I clip them. I also pieced the legs (pattern has you embroider them) and I did turned applique rather than raw edge. It's my first applique project, so I made a practice bird block. This gave me the opportunity to audition my quilting pattern and then make a cute gift bag. From a prior project I had strips of the blue ladybug fabric that I added to the quilt back and the bag handles. I can see why baby quilts are addictive. This was a really quick project. |

PaperPrincess..............love your Twitter baby quilt. Yes, I too enjoy making baby quilts as they work up quickly, are a great way to try out a new pattern or quilting technique and greatly appreciated as a gift or donation. Thanks for the great pattern links.
