I "finished" this top today using a honeybun, so it was fast and easy. I really like how it came out, but I'm flip-flopping between adding a border or not. If I add a border, I have a tone on tone white fabric that I think would look good and then bind it with a pink and white polka dot. Or do I just bind it with the pink and white polka dot. I can't decide.... Usually, I'm very decisive and know right away which fabric or not I'll use. This time I could go either way. So, add a border or call it a day and quilt and bind it?

I think it would really be set off with a border. But that is how I feel today, ask me tomorrow!!

I would bind it with the polka dots....although after trying to picture it..I think a darker border then the polka dots would be great

I like it the way it is but then you didn't show it with the border and I have no "imaginary eye". It's beautiful though.

If it's for a baby, I usually avoid using white, but that's just me. I like how it looks, but know how often baby things gett all nasty...and white doesn't always stay pretty after the nastiness!

I use white with quite a few of the moda fabric lines. It really pops the bright colors. I used bleach on white areas with my kids and to me it looks fresh and clean. The backing will be a dark pink.

Adding a border of any color already in the quilt or the tone on tone white with the polka dot binding would "frame" it beautifully!

I would definitely add a border. Lovely quilt.

I always like a border. It gives the eyes a place to rest and take the whole thing in, especially when there are a lot of busy fabrics. Another option if you don't want to make it bigger with borders, is you could put a flange or piping, then the binding.
Forgot to say how pretty I think it is! :) |
I would add a solid color border.
