A beautiful quilt. Another that I would like on my bucket list which is overflowing!

Quiltngolfer, It was fairly easy even for a beginner. I did do it a little differently than Jenny though because I'm not as accurate as she is. I made the square just as she did, then I squared each square up to 5" marking the center of the lattice strip to line up the ruler with. That way I actually didn't do too badly. There are a couple of the strips that are not right on, but not enough to bother me. I would have no trouble making a large quilt using this pattern.

Very pretty! I've always liked that pattern. Is there a trick to pressing the seams a certain way where the all come together?

Katier, I did the same as Jenny and pressed away from the white lattice. I sewed the squares into blocks of 4 and just pressed either up or down in order to have the seems nest when sewing the blocks together. I have since learned how to swirl the center to have it lay really flat in either a 4 patch or hst, but I didn't do that with this particular quilt. Live and learn eh!

Can you share how you learned to swirl the center of your blocks? I was taught that in my first quilting class and now cannot for the life of me remember how to do it!

Suern3, The following link is where I first learned about swirling the center of the squares. I have since learned too that this lady knows what she is talking about.
