Baby Quilt is Done (Flannel, Flannel Backed Satin, and Cuddle fabrics)
2 Attachment(s)
My latest great niece was born in early June but since I didn't have a sewing room set up this quilt had to wait until now. I have 7 copy paper boxes full of different flannels so that I can mix and match depending on the baby's sex. Also, with this many fabrics I can make a totally unique quilt when a sibling comes along.
I think this is the 7th quilt I've made like this. I use freezer paper paper piecing and just re-use my 20 freezer paper patterns over and over again so this quilt goes very quickly. I used my machine's triple-strength blanket stitch for the final securing of the binding. Thanks for looking! |
Very pretty!!!

l like the satin binding
|
nicely done

Really cute. Just something that seems right about having a satin border on a baby quilt.
|
Cute quilt and the satin binding looks great.

Pretty quilt, babies seem to like all the different textures too. So she will like the softness of the back and silkiness of the edge. Very nice.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone. I appreciate them. I forgot to say that the batting in this one is just a piece of white flannel since I happened to have white flannel laying around. I quit using traditional batting and usually use white non-flannel cottons as the batting because I'm hoping that gives more stability for the SID quilting stitches than a regular bat would. I assume these quilts will dragged around and stretched quite a bit.

Is it baby quilt night tonight? This is the fourth one that I see. I love baby quilts, so I'm glad I visited. This little quilt is just adorable. Minkee fabric is so hard to work with--it's soft and yummy, but difficult. How did you manage it?
