I saw a quilt like this somewhere (can't remember where) and thought "what a great way to use up scraps". You sandwich your quilt, then sew the scraps on which also quilts it. I actually made 2, but didn't take a picture of the first one.

Beautiful scrappy quilt.

So are the edges left raw or do you turn them under?I can't tell by the picture . I really like the looks of this quilt can you explain in more detail and possibly show the back?

What a cool idea. I love yours. Thanks for sharing.

Great idea! You could probably sandwich the quilt and add the scrappy patches as they accumulate. Kind of a work in progress.

raedar63: I used a wavy rotary cutter to cut the pieces and the edges are left raw - I just sewed around the edges. I'm sorry, I don't have a picture.
QuiltsRfun: I like your idea of having the sandwich ready for adding scraps as you have them.
If/when I ever make another one, I think I'll use bigger scraps.

I found a tutorial at http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=2311, they call it a ticker tape quilt.
