So this is the first of the quilts I have been working on this week during my vacation....
It is intended for a family at our church expecting their third child, a second girl. I saw the fabric in the large border at Joann's and fell in love. It told me it had to be for the baby's quilt--it reminds me so much of the mother. A sweet woman with beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair. Luckily I have some left over to use on something else...for me?? :P

this is going to be a gift for a little girl

And this is the second one. I used the same bug fabric from the last baby quilt I posted. Added some lovelies from my stash and once it's quilted it will be sent to my cousin in celebration of her first born. At least it'll get there before he is a year old!! I'm getting better!! I found the PERFECT stripe flannel for the back at Joann's...there was just enough on the bolt!!! Yay! And on sale 50% off!!!

this is the main quilt

And finally this is the last of the 3 I have made so far. My husband keeps insisting I could sell my items so I figured I'd make a few and see what happens. I'm thinking I'll try etsy. But this is the first of possible ones to sell. Do you feel someone would pay for this quilt?? The main fabric/ border reminds me of a vintage sheet. I was going for a baby girl quilt that isn't traditional and maybe a hint of vintage lovings...what do all ya'll think??

again main quilt--sideways sorry :(

I love the rick-rack around the edge! That will provide a little one some tactile opportunities.

Ooooh, so pretty! :)

roseOfsharon 07-23-2010 11:56 AM

Oh they are going to be such lovely new additions to the receivers!

Fiber Artist 07-23-2010 12:02 PM

They are all three very beautiful!!!

mollymct 07-23-2010 12:09 PM

I think your quilts are great! I especially like the first with the trim inside the border. I think they look nice enough to sell, but I don't know the first thing about how to go about it. I love etsy and shop there all the time! I like handmade stuff!

Your quilts are very pretty. Let us know how you make out with selling them.

All of your quilts are very pretty and have pretty fabrics in them! I love the rick-rack on the last one!

I love your quilts and think that giving them to those babies is so kind of you.
The last one that you want to sell is lovely! It has a bit of autumn look to it which people will like now that July is coming to an end. Just my thoughts!
Good luck to you! You have a generous heart. HUGS
Oops! I thought you were selling the 3rd one. But yes, I think your husband is right!!! :D

Nope you're right the autumn looking one is the one I'd be looking to put into a shop. I started cutting out a boyish one with my special red hippo fabric from Ikea!!
Thank you all for the kind words and support!!!

Very Nice Quilts!

littlehud 07-23-2010 08:12 PM

That is so pretty. Perfect quilt for that little girl. I do love the border fabric.

wvdek 07-23-2010 08:16 PM

Your quilts are nice. Try Etsy and see what happens. Never know until you try.

som 07-23-2010 08:17 PM

i like your quilts

adyldrop 07-24-2010 05:21 AM

Thanks to all of you!! It's easier to set up a shop--which I find scary--when there is such awesome support to be had here!! I need to get backing material for the orange/turq one and for the hippo one I'm cutting out and putting together today. I also need some solid black for a border treatment on the hippo one-- I was inspired by the jerseys my hubby made for our church softball team. So I guess another trip to Joann's is a-coming!!

So this is the red hippo one I was talking about. I totally messed up the backing flannel and didn't get quite enough. Grrr. Back to the store tomorrow!!!

All three of them are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!

annette1952 07-25-2010 10:16 PM

Very pretty quilts! I say Yes as to the selling of them.

adyldrop 07-26-2010 05:33 AM

Thanks guys. I got extremely discouraged yesterday with my machine trying to start the quilting. I had to rip everything out of the turquoise gift one. I guess i'm going to have to hand quilt them all. i do not have time for that!! this is why i ndever make anything to sell :( :(

CarrieAnne 07-26-2010 06:14 AM

Very pretty!
