The first pic is a close up of my avatar and the first quilt I made, an attic window design for my DGS. I don't have a pic of the very first quilting project that I made which was a wallhanging. The second pic is of the rail fence blocks I was going to use for a quilt for a friend before I found out that she thought pieced quilts are "too busy." I have since completed the top but it remains a WIP. Will post that pic later.

Wow, who wouldn't like those quilts. I'll be your friend, I like pieced quilts, and Ialthough some are busy, they're very nice.

I like you Attic Windows. I've been making pot holders with some of the blocks I printed off the net. Am tackling the Windows next. I love your colors

I must be "old" fashioned - but can't imagine putting skulls in a baby quilt?

Skulls of all sorts and bright/neon colors are very popular in "edgy" baby and toddler gear. Of the nine pregnant or new moms I know all but one favor really bright. The skulls are part of the punk/goth/rockabilly taste of this generation. 8-)

The baby won't see skulls. He will see bright colors. Sometime I have to remind myself too that it is a different world than when I was growing up. We weren't into all of the skulls and goth types of things.

Those are both cool quilt. I love your DGDs one. Your friend is missing out on a wonderful quilt. Thanks for sharing.

I wasn't expecting the top quilt when I clicked on the title "Baby Quilts." That is quite the baby quilt!

My nephew would have loved that when he was little. If it doesn't have a skull on it, he doesn't wear it.

Beffy-b00

I am a newie at quilting. I have been asked to make a baby quilt. So where do I go? to my teachers on this site for ideals. When I look at a quilt I study how fabrics go together,(that is color combinations, as well as pattern. From my reading baby pink and blue are not the only color for babies. Bright colors are what babies see. This quilt is agless (sp).Your quilt has added to my knowledge of how to put color together. Thank you for posting. I am sure newie will gain from this posting. We senior will have to forget baby pink and baby blue as the only colors for babies

Like your quilts. Good colors.
I have a sister who doesn't like "busy" quilts. I finally made her a mariner's compass in unpatterned batiks.

Love both your quilts and especially the rail fence. Busy or not I would be thrilled to death if someone took the time and effort to make me a quilt. It's your friends loss, not yours.
