Hi Guys:
The baby quilt is a block we learned to make in our quilt class this month. It's quick, easy and so fun. The other quilt is a scrappy quilt to use up some of the fabric leftovers. I love scrappy so this quilt is not only a utility quilt that will be used and abused everyday but it's also one of my favorite kinds of quilts. Warm with a flannel backing, soft with thicker batting and all the beautiful fabrics that I love. Hope you enjoy! Beautiful quilts.. I especially like the scrappy quilt. The colors just blend so well together..

wow!!!!!!!!! i love them both

I LOVE them both, but am particularly partial to the baby quilt. That is a fabulous pattern, and your colors/fabrics are terrific!!! Is the pattern one you can share with us, or do we need to buy our own?
|
Both quilts are great - scrappy pattern very effective, and the bunny quilt, & colours, gorgeous.
|
They are both Beautiful quilts.
|
I love them both! but that scrappy one is awesome. I'm going to have to try and make that one!

Love them!

Feathers,I like both those quilts. Scrappies are my favorite. They always come out great and the fabrics don't have to match.
Is there a pattern name for the baby quilt. It looks like it would be interesting to do. ranger |
Those are really nice.
|
Your quilts are beautiful, as always. I love the scrappy quilt. It must be oh, so cozy to curl up under! The second quilt pattern is intriguing. Yes, is there a pattern name for it? Curious minds and all that.
|
They are so cute. The scrappy one looks fun to make and I like the idea of all my favorite fabrics in one quilt. Love that baby quilt. I want to make one of those.
|
Both are wonderful!! May I borrow your idea on the scrappy one?
|
Love them both!
|
Very nice

Did you strip piece the scrappy?? Cut a 7 1/2 inch strip of PRINT Colored fabric by WOF Cut a 1 1/2 Inch strip of plain or small print WHITE or OFF WHITE fabric by WOF. Sew the White fabric to the Colored fabric on the WOF length. Press, Cut the new strip with the white and colored fabric sewn together into bars each bar being 2 inches wide. Then arrange the bars how you want them in your scrappy quilt. You can do as I did or you can lay every other white end the opposite side of the block making square blocks which you can then sew together. Easy Peasy. I have 164 blocks in the pictured quilt and that's the size for a twin-sized bed ...JUST the top of the bed, no overhang. This is going to be my TV snuggle quilt so I didn't need it very wide but did make it extra long so I could tuck my toes in. |

I'll write up the directions and post them for you later tonight. Have a Dr. appt. now. |
I'm glad you're posting the patterns - I love to make them!
|
nice work feathers
|
Thank you feathers! :D
|
Feathers, I would also like the name of both patterns. I would love to make a quilt of each and hope to select fabrics that go as well together as yours. Beautiful and make you want to snuggle up under!

The Scrappy quilt is another without a name. I call it Bar Quilt with white corner blocks for lack of a better name. I just had fabric that needed using and I had seen the idea of speed piecing on different sites (specific site I recall off the top of my head was QUILT BUS.com for the tablerunner they have as a free pattern) so decided to go with it and give it a try. Sorry I can't give you a great name for either of the quilts but YOU can name them whatever you want then let me know and I might adopt YOUR name. Oh! this could be the challenge! Give these quilts a name. I'll post the challenge and see what we come up with. It'll be fun. |
Fantastic work!! :D Bravo!
|
Very nice!

OK Guys, I put all the info, measurements and pictures under the tutorial thread but now I can't find it so I'll go back and check in a minute. I can't believe I've lost it all. I'll keep looking. I labeled it "Feather's Baby Quilt Tutorial" if any of you are out and about the threads and find it went to some other place????
|
Several of you asked for the pattern to make the baby quilt and I did write them up and thought I posted them on the TUTORIAL thread but it's not showing up. I just clicked on my name to get my profile to see if it showed up as one of my messages and there are the instructions for the purple and yellow baby quilt. Don't know what I did to get them in my profile rather than the tutorial area. It shows on the top of the instructions that it was for tutorial thread but ??????

Feathers:
Finally found the thread for the quilt. I guess you stepped away from the chat when I came back to tell you, OMG both are so beautiful. How did you finish them so fast??? The baby quilt is my favorite because I love the colors you chose. I went to your original thread and bookmarked the instructions for making the baby quilt. Always looking for something new and this was beautiful. Keep up the great work!! :D Penny |

Wonderful quilts! I love scrappy quilts, and I was contemplating doing a pioneer braid quilt, but you may have changed my mind.
The baby quilt is precious. Were you the lady that showed the bits and pieces of it? If I remember correctly, the Easter picture is 6 1/2" square and then strip pieces joined around it. of different widths and lengths, of course. I don't remember the post of it, but someone will probably help those asking for directions. It is a very striking quilt and a wonderful solution for "What do I do with my panels?" Good job, and thank you for sharing! |

I really love your scrappy quilt, but the bright colors of the baby quilt are beautiful too, can't pick a favorite!! :D :D :D
