"Back And Forth" Top Is Done

This worked up really quickly. I think I am in love with this pattern. I'm sure I will be doing another one soon. There is one little mistake (sort of). In the second column about halfway down, there are two green with leaves that are close to each other. I try really hard not to do that, but I always seem to manage at least one. Oh well. :)

This top will be taking a trip to Indiana soon to "visit" Harriet's long arm machine.

I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. Lovely quilt. I love batiks.

Pretty top!

Nicely done.

That is a great pattern to show off lovely batik colors. Good job.

Such a beautiful scrap buster!!

QuiltnNan 03-12-2019 12:53 PM

nicely done, i like that pattern too

Very pretty. I still couldn't find it. Don't know if this would help you but it does me. A quilt like that I would mark with Crayola Washable Markers numbering each block and each row. Although my blocks are usually bigger.

Very nice!

It's a great quilt top:thumbup:. I look forward to seeing it quilted.

Looks like fun and quick. We seem to critique our own work harder than we do others.

Teddybear Lady 03-12-2019 06:47 PM

Looks great!

JustAbitCrazy 03-12-2019 07:46 PM

Don't be so hard on yourself. It's gorgeous! The only thing that makes me get out my ripper is if two identical fabrics are next to each other, joining or touching. Beautiful batiks!

Liking your colorful quilt. I like that pattern and can see that you could cut scraps as you cut for ongoing quilts. Kinda like doing leaders and enders.

I made one for my grand-daughter a couple of years ago...it was for her first "big girl" bed. They are fun to make!

Great quilt...we probably wouldn’t have noticed the two green prints if you hadn’t pointed them out. LOL
Looks like a great pattern to have in your library.

SusieQOH 03-13-2019 05:10 AM

Boston, that's so pretty!!! You make such beauties! :)

sprice 03-13-2019 05:28 AM

Lovely quilt! What size are the pieces cut to?

Doggramma 03-13-2019 05:55 AM

Pretty combo of colors

Boston1954 03-13-2019 06:48 AM

Thanks for all the nice comments. Yours is gorgeous Linda. I bet your grand-daughter loved it!

I cut my pieces 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 and 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. There were a bunch cut that size from another project and I was able to use up many of them before diving into my stash.

I love this quilt, Boston! I still can't find the "mistake."

Linda, I love yours also. Both are so colorful and cheery!

ccthomas 03-13-2019 04:54 PM

Both of the quilts shown are very nice.

Jordan 03-14-2019 08:16 AM

Such a beautiful quilt and I didn't even see the two fabrics that you are worried about being together. Not noticeable at all. You make such gorgeous quilts.

catsden 03-14-2019 08:40 AM

Very nice. Love the colors.

ArtsyOne 03-15-2019 06:01 AM

If you hadn't pointed them out . . .
Honestly, I can look at my own quilts a hundred times on the wall and think I've got everything laid out perfectly but when it's all sewn together the two colors that shouldn't be next to each other always are. I think they move on their own to be next to their friends.

jstorm67 03-16-2019 02:07 AM

Love it. Now I have to find the pattern so I can do one.

Gerbie 03-16-2019 02:43 AM

May I ask where you found this pattern? I did a quick search which I hate to do, not good at searching the internet, but the patterns I found for Back and Forth are not like the patterns for the two quilts in this thread. I love your pattern. Both of you ladies made beautiful quilts.

Boston1954 03-17-2019 09:38 AM

Actually "Back and Forth" is just what I named mine. I saw a picture online and drew it up in my EQ5. I just think of it in rows with every other one going in the opposite direction from the one above it. I wanted my pieces good sized so I cut 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 and 3 1/2 x 6 1/2. It's really easy. You will have a lot of fun with this. I did mine in batiks, but it can be striking with regular fabric as well.

joyce888 03-19-2019 02:10 PM

Very nice and looks great in batiks.
