I made this lap quilt in 1996 when husband was dying of cancer. I quilted a lot back then. It gave my hands something to do when he was awake and wanted me near. After he was gone. I put quilting away until last Nov. It brought to many memories.. So glad that it now brings happy memories.

Very nice quilt. Many here have used quilting as a safe, peaceful place to go when they are dealing "things". Glad that you have come back to it and that it is once again a good place to be.

Your quilt is very peaceful. So many of us have found solace in quilting. While my only sister was dying of cancer 4 years ago, I too was able to find peace in my quilting. I am glad that you have good memories of the past and your husband. Now it is time to come back to your craft and enjoy it once again. Welcome back.

Very nice quilt!! Your statement reminds me of our 4-H pledge, as a kid.
To use our heads , hands, heart and health.
It all works to keep our sanity through very stressful times.
Welcome back to quilting. Seems to be a safe harbor for a lot of us, in a storm tossed world.

What a beautiful quilt. It is reversible. I love the back as well as the front. I'm so sorry about your husband.

It is good to have you back. ((((HUGS)))))).
They say time heals and it is so hard to understand. There are so many stages we must walk through in the losing and loss of a loved one. It is such a blessing when our hearts feel the happy memories. That was when I began to understand that 'time heals'.
Regards, Dorothy

Oh, I like the back as much as the front. I am so sorry for your loss, but glad you have been able to work through your sadness and now are at a more peaceful place. It must have been such a comfort to your husband to have you so close to him.
