Thank you for sharing, I have found two here in NJ near my home. I was surprised when I saw them would not expect them to show up on a barn around here.

I live just outside of Greeneville and recognize many of the barns you have pictures of. Hancock's? in Greeneville? I wish! Ann in TN

They are so nice! One of the ladies in my stitch group has blocks painted on 3 sides of their small shed in the back yard. Talk about eye candy!!

Wonderful!! I love the barn quilts. I recently moved to Alcona County, MI and have been told that there are 27 barns with quilt pictures on them in the county. My girlfriend and I are going to travel the entire county one day to try and find them all.

could you tell me what road you were on? hubs wants to take me on a quick trip into TN, maybe to Knoxville and I would like to travel this way to see the barns - even if I have to get him to drive west to east lol sharet

I hope I dont appear stupid but, how are the barn quilts done or made, I would guess that they are painted?

Just Me... 08-21-2011 06:43 AM

love looking at them. Hubs always points them out when we are out on a drive. :)

Beautiful. I have all the supplies, but just can't seem to decide what quilt block to paint. Thanks for showing me some ideas. Most of the ones I've seen around here are stars and I think I would like something different.

Thanks for the pictures. We have a small garden shed in our backyard and as soon as I figure out what block I want I will add it to the shed. My husband doesn't know this yet, boy will he be surprised.

LorrainePA 08-21-2011 08:57 AM

Really neat - I want to do one for the side ofour huge garage - maybe over the winter

flybynight 08-21-2011 09:33 AM

Very beautiful!! We never see anything like that here in Newfoundland. Perhaps it's because we have so few barns.
It is a great idea - like your own family stamp!!

DonnaB 08-21-2011 10:27 AM

Thanks for the tour, wish we could do that here in AZ.

When I went to Paducah recently, I didn't see any barn quilts! I was suprised to say the least. When you go through KY on '75 you see lots of them.

Wow! One more reason to look forward to visiting your area. My granddaughter attends Tusculum on a soccer scholarship & I have been hoping to get there soon, although it is long way from Austin, TX.

Barn Quilts are wonderful -- last year took a trip from the NW thru MN, WIS, IA & my sweet hubby drove thru many, many, barnyards so I could get photos. SAC City, Iowa even had a booklet published for visitors.
