I love it! I have an old window I bought several years.ago, now I know what to do with it! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. That window frame is 130 years old, was part of the barn on our original homestead. Had to replace a couple of panes of glass and reglaze but its history is a conversation in itself.

WOW I LOVE it, can you give more info on how you made it. I would love something like this in my family room. Are the quilt blocks attached or is the window just in front of the quilted piece????

Bonnie, Each block was quilted individually. Then I use a heavy foam board and center the block around that and place the block in its window. . I use a staple gun to attach the block to the back. After that, cut a piece of thin subflooring, I suppose poster board would also work to cover up the back. Add hangers and your all set. Feel free to pm me if this is not clear. Try to get a window with almost square panes, you can add sashing to your block to equal it out to the size of the pane. That's what I did.

How neat to still have a window that is 130 years old and then to reuse it in such a creative way....love the way you preserved a piece of your family's history. thanks for sharing!

How special! Are the blocks (window openings) about 7 x 10?
I found this thread by stalking you as I wanted to find out more about your avator. Could you share some info on this lovely barn. Thanks
