Too long ago to remember, but I usually work straight until I get one finished.

Particularly like your quilting - reminds me of some of the quilts my beloved grandmother made. All of hers were hand-quilted, too, because there was no such thing as a quilting machine then... thank goodness... because it's from her I learned an appreciation for quilting.
