this is my red and blue quilt i done the drunkard path the circle is applique on i am basting that on my twin bed got a table leaf under it so i can slide it back and forth i got two big boards 7 feet long to hold the back and the front and got my batting in between got this off of you tube using tatting threads

this is the way i laid it out

Love the way you have it laid out Elsie, what a great way to baste a quilt!

saves the knees. I did everything on the floor prior to seeing this. Oh, and you can store the quilt sandwiches until you are ready to quilt them.

yes she is the one i like it too it if fast and fun i doing this one on my bed cause my table is small

my apartment is so little it two room and it narrow so i can't use the floor i been wanting to do this one night i was laying on my bed and said ok why not the bed my daughter had a old table and she let me have the leaf out of it, it works my bed is a twin

Great idea. I also like Schamber's video and tried it on my last baby quilt. I was able to do it on the table as the quilt was small. It was great to baste this way and I ended up doing the machine quilting myself too. I love Schamber's binding video. I, too, am learning so much from her. Let us see how your quilt looks after quilting!

I also am going to try this method as I am getting tired of crawling on the floor especially with larger quilts Thanks for the link to this info. Every one is so generous about sharing on this board thanks again it's a wonderful group!

I loved this video! I had my sweet husband make me 2 rails from 8ft stock, luckily I have an 8ft table in my sewing room. If you haven't tried it with water soluble thread, you should; it's more slippery than tatting thread, but it washes out & tatting doesn't. one less step.
