gorgeous! You picked the perfect pattern to showcase the batiks! BTW, how many hours a day do you spend sewing?? LOL! I am always amazed at how much you get accomplished :) And all of your quilts are always awesome :) Of course if I spent less time on here drooling over everyone's beautiful creativity I might actually get a little more quilting done myself ;) Happy Sunday!

Oh my! What a striking quilt. This is another "I wanna" in my idea file. At this rate I'll have to live to 100 just to get the "I wannas" done!

Is there a pattern, or if not, would you share the process of putting the quilt together. I'm new to quilting and can't quite figure out how the different squares go together since some are placed on their narrow side and some wide.

judi wess 12-03-2012 05:41 AM

Just love this!!! What a great way to show off collected fabrics without chopping them into small pieces. A great one for large florals or novelties.

stitcherlady 12-03-2012 05:42 AM

Your quilt is fabulous. I love the way that each batik is showcased within the black. Nice job!

Cris 12-03-2012 05:44 AM

I made it in a 10 inch finished size block.there are 3 pieces to each block.the batik is 6.5 by 10.5 -1 per block.the black is cut at 2.5 by 10.5 -2 per block.the blocks are rotated to sew the rows.it is very easy to do.

Mariposa 12-03-2012 06:06 AM

Thanks for the picture! I have that pattern sitting on my computer desk and am washing the black fabric as I type. You have inspired me to "get moving" so I can have a quilt like yours! What a beaut!
