beautiful quilt using men's ties
 

this quilt was at the local quilt guild show two weekends ago. unfortunately I didn't have pen & paper with me, and the camera died before I got pics of the display card, so I cannot give credit to the quilter who did such a fantastic job.

I am with you on this one.. I normally am not a fan of most quilts made from ties this is the exception!

one of first quilts I ever made was for my Uncle. I made a tie quilt using ties I got at 2nd hand store (in 1972 I bought a whole bag of ties for 49 cents) The ironic part was my Uncle NEVER wore a tie! I was very young and did not realize that fact, till the story was related at a family reunion 25 years later, My Aunt said he loved it any way! The only neck tie quilt I ever made!

I have a bunch of ties gathered at yard sales and such back in my hoarder days lol. I have not decided if I will keep them or not but this is certianly a great idea. Unfortunatly the quilting is what makes most quilts and I could only in my wildest dreams quilt this nice lol
