I am making an emergency trip to NC tomorrow as my 90 year old father is in very bad health. I'm taking my 8 year old with me, so I had to get us both ready for the trip, and get the rest of the family prepared to be at home for a week without me.
SO of course, sewing took priority :) These are two items of my own imagination. I was gifted some lovely home decorating fabric so I made a laptop sleeve so I can take my laptop tomorrow and a tote bag to carry the rest of our crap in. The sleeve is something I'm really impressed with ~ it has ties at the top to tie the laptop in securely and a pocket on the front for the cables and cords.... They are far from perfect, but considering I came up with the ideas myself and used stuff I had here to pull it together they came out pretty good! |
I think they're beautiful. As long as they serve the purpose for which they're intended then they are perfect.
Personally I love to make my own bags. I made one last year to take to Paducah that looked like a handbag but unsnapped into a large shopping bag. Have a safe trip and I hope your father does okay. |
WOW!! Those are nice. Great Job.
|
I think they are perfect. I want the pattern for the laptop computer carrier. It's really great.
|

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! |
Beautiful bags, you did a good job. Prayers are with you and the family. Give your dad hug from me.
|
Great bags!
|
What do you mean pretty good?? I love them both!
Have a safe trip and I pray your dad is ok. |
You did an excellent job on both!
|
GREAT job! They both turned out wonderfully, especially since you had no pattern to go by! I had to chuckle at the first picture. Reminded me of the picture you posted of the last bag you made. There's the dog, and there's the cord to nowhere. :)
I hope y'all have a safe trip! |

 Great job on your bags! I love the 'deer pocket' on the blue one :D
Hugs to your Dad & you too. |
And I thought it was just me that looked at all of the other things in a photo after the subject. You are becoming quite the BAG LADY, there BK. I hope you have some good news about your dad when you answer these.

They both look great to me.
I hope you have a safe trip and your Dad recovers. |
Thanks all! We survived our 27 hour trip by air ~ nothing like OHare being closed and us being re-routed all over kingdom come....with a 8 year old in tow no less. Things are status quo...I'm glad we were able to come and let the little one spend some quality time with Grandpa. (And the bags held up great through all that!!!!)

No add more to it. To give us something to peek at...
I was thinking about starting a thread. Have everybody post a pic of what thier sewing table looks like right at the time. We'll see who is working hard, or just messy, OR a neat freak. Whadda tink? |
