So I've been torturing myself with this quilt for a long time. And some of you have been along on the trip. Anyway, I've finally finished it, and am posting pictures of the whole progression: the first miserable looking top, then I added black strips which improved it, then I added orange squares and quilted it. I actually like it now, especially that I'm done with it!

Great looking finish. I like the quilting radiating out from the corner...very unique!

The bursts of orange really add a lot of life to it, and the black gave it a 3D effect. Kudoes. And yay for the finish. I know it feels great.

Oh I do remember your quilt. When you added the shadowing it really made a big difference. And then your orange! Now the quilting and you have aced it. Glad you like it now.

I like it also. I love the addition of the orange squares. Waked it up, and now it is finished. Very nice.

Wow, you did a great job with this! Thanks for showing us the progression and I love the way you quilted it.

tscweaves 12-06-2017 05:33 PM

This came out great! I am amazed at the difference it made adding the black lines. Everything just popped. I really like the quilting you chose as well. You sure turned this quilt around:thumbup:

ccthomas 12-06-2017 05:59 PM

Amazing how the final quilt looks.

ArtsyOne 12-07-2017 09:38 AM

I have one that looks like your first version that I've sort of just laid to the side because I knew it was missing something but couldn't figure out what. Thank you so much for posting your progression - adding the black strips really took your first version to a whole new level that was topped off with the orange. Now I have hope for mine!

Jules51 12-07-2017 01:33 PM

It turned out wonderful. Great job with the transformation!

JoyjoyMarie 12-08-2017 06:41 AM

Sometimes we have to just let those juices percolate, until we get the right brew! This turned out to be a very handsome quilt!!

Homemother 12-29-2017 05:52 PM

Very clever! I like it both with and without the orange. You just never know what a little addition will do to a quilt!
