Awsome! Great Job!

sspingler 08-30-2008 07:27 AM

WOW! I especially love the second one.

Mplsgirl 08-30-2008 07:49 AM

I thought a cheater cloth was something that was already made to look like a quilt and you just did the quilting. I sewed none of that together, just used it to practice quilting stitches?

Moonpi 08-30-2008 08:31 AM

Very even stitching, you did well.

Chele 08-30-2008 08:42 AM

Very nice quilts! Your hand quilting looks awesome!

retrogirl02 08-30-2008 08:45 AM

UH, beginner?? Oh my, what amazing quilts. Glad to see you've joined us and I'm looking forward to more pictures.

patricej 08-30-2008 08:46 AM

gosh, yes! your stitches make me  with envy.

it just occurred to me ... why do we call pre-printed quilt tops "cheaters", but don't say the same when we piece our own tops, but have somebody else do the quilting?

don't both phases require skill, care and a lot of attention? and isn't it great that we can divide the labor according to our own preference? i, for one, hope to someday piece a top worthy of the "jacquemoe" touch. ;-)

no cheaters here. just a whole lotta smart quilters. :P

Very nice quilts. I think the so called cheater quilt is a wonderful to practice stitches - and they look great. May have to try that.

CissyQuilts 08-30-2008 10:31 AM

 Great work! You have a bright future as a quilter.

Marcia 08-30-2008 11:37 AM

Both of your pieced quilts are really nice. You have done a great job. I think you should move your Beginner status up to Intermediate now. :D

What wonderful encouragement! Thank you all, I will try to send some pix of my SIL who lives in Costa Rica. She has made me 2 quilts, along with her mother and husband who quilt. My SIL does not speak English, but we have a wonderful time together. Quilting is a language all of its own.
My basement was flooded this winter, but most of my fabric and my pictures were up high! I'm getting inspired again.

I'm not sure where to put these, but these are pix of my SIL's quilts she made for me, without knowing how to quilt, because she learned I liked them. She, her husband and Momma made these!

Marcia 08-30-2008 05:24 PM
