Best Friend Quilts

2 Attachment(s)
I have been absent from the board for a long time but I have been busy. Attached are two quilts that I recently completed. One friend asked for a quilt for her new house and said 'I just want something that looks old" and the other friend sent me pictures of bold colored modern quilts with quite a few beach scenes so I came up with these two quilts. I have been friends with these ladies since high school. Sure hope they will enjoy their new quilts. The Mill Town Girls quilt was featured in the December/January 2013 McCall's Quick Quilts magazine. I replicated the quilt featured as "Milltown Stars" designed by Sarah Maxwell and Dolores Smith using Mill Girls Collection by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Fabrics. The Beach Scene quilt was a kit I purchased at Hancocks of Paducah called Seaside Village by Nancy's Cupboard. Both quilts were pieced by me and long arm quilted by a local gentlemen that does beautiful all over quilting for our local quilt shop. I hope you enjoy these pictures.

They are both beautiful and you did a good job of capturing what they each wanted!

Beautiful job of capturing their ideas. I love, love , love the one that looks old. I'm really shy about green and the one you chose for this is just perfect. Lucky ladies!

You did a wonderful job creating what each friend asked for. The beach scenes is a fun, adorable quilt but I have to say the first one really grabs me. I'm a fan of antiques and antique looking things. You do beautiful work.

They're both stunning.

I'd say you hit the nail on both heads. Wow, that first one is so pretty. I am sure the beach scene will steal the owner's heart.

Both are wonderful quilts! I love how the stripes were used in the Beach one.
