I like the 2nd one better but either one would work!

CJ, if you repeat the top row into the 3rd row it will look like both pictures. It will be a stunning quilt when put together. Love the colors.

They are not the same but only slightly different! That is why everyone likes #2 better but can't explain why :) #2 has exact matches for squares whereas #1 had an extra stripe in some on the squares and made them not gel well together ...
